Upper Grand Gains the Upper Hand.


Rewriting the book on book drives: a small board does big things.

You may never have heard of the hamlets of Drayton, Brisbane or East Garafraxa. But schools in these Wellington County communities – plus Central PS in Guelph – have put our 2017 book drives on the map. No district has collected more books for school libraries in the Eastern Caribbean than Upper Grand. And that’s an astonishing fact, considering there are 18 boards in Ontario with larger enrolments than Upper Grand DSB. Thanks, teachers and students, for making this happen!

Books packed by kids in Ontario for their peers in the Caribbean travel 1,800 kilometres by road then another 5,275 kilometres by container ship.
